Suddenly I have a vague idea of why it took so long for me to draw Jiia again.
Seriously, those braids are doom. I can draw Disney hair, swirly floaty hair that defies the laws of physics. Cornrows? Not so much. Hopefully they turned out okay anyway.
I made a couple of other changes - dropped her belt, for one, and the second line of the poem on her right arm is a little different. Also, I distinctly remember being totally unable to figure out what the pendant on her second necklace should be, and just scribbling something, so I changed it to that random sickle-crescent shape. And that is a very deliberately even-armed cross - anything that looks like extra length is actually the loop it's strung on. Just for clarity's sake.
She looks so much better in the lineart than the sketch, I cannot even tell you - however, as a consequence of that, and also the sheer amount of time I spent looking at her braids, I really can't say any more about the quality than that. I'm sure there are problems, but I just plain can't see 'em anymore. ^^

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
